I enjoy this campground. I just wish there were more trees and privacy between some sites.
I had a great time at Woodland Valley, once I found it. My GPS/Google Maps didn't realize the bridge is out (as of 5/21/17), and then I lost the signal - of course. Eventually found my way (On 28, go into Phoenicia at the "Phoenicia" sign, make the first left onto High street. Follow High street to Woodland Valley - about 10 minutes).
You have absolutely no cell service and it’s just down the road from a nice little town it’s a perfect spot to get away for the weekend
The campground itself is not as secluded as I prefer, but the people there were very friendly, the facilities (bathrooms and showers) are clean, clean garbage/recycling site, it's close to town, the Phoenicia Diner, and GREAT hiking (I went to Hunter mountain - about 20 minutes away). The campground has a 10:00 p.m. quiet time, which everyone abides by (even the group of guys who I thought for sure would be up well into the night).
5 plus! This place is great. Love the workers, very nice people, totally helped us out with a deflating air mattress. Some sites are better than others but all depends what you want. A lot of sites are close to each other but it's great for group camping as they are strict on the rules here and only 6 peeps/2 cars to a site. Also very strict about the bear rules, but have to be; you are in bear territory! PLEASE follow the rules about food and garbage, don't be ignorant. Awesome dish washing/recycling/trash station. Didn't use the showers but bathrooms are very nice for such a rustic place. Great location for hiking and fishing. Some of the best hiking trails but they are difficult. Just be prepared for inclines and rocks; will probably take longer than expected. Enjoy!
Great location and great facilities. Close to Woodland Creek which offers trout fishing. Also close to the trail head that leads to many peaks with astounding views, such as Mt Wittenberg and Slide Mt.
I'll be back!
